Description
What’s it used for?
On the trail or in town, this jacket is your go-to layer. Built for occasional hikes, it delivers technical protection at a great price—with a modern, short cut you'll love.
How waterproof is it?
Face the rain with confidence in our hiking jacket. Its 15,000 mm H₂O (Schmerber) waterproof fabric keeps you dry in medium to heavy rain—performance backed by the JIS standard.
What are schmerbers?
The Schmerber rating measures how waterproof a fabric is—the higher the number, the better the protection. This jacket is rated 15,000 mm H₂O, meaning it can withstand the pressure of a 49 ft column of water.
What is a membrane fabric?
The membrane acts like a shield against rain—bonded to the outer fabric, it blocks water while letting moisture escape. The result: you stay dry, inside and out. This 2-layer jacket features the membrane bonded only to the outer layer.
How do you wash this hiking jacket?
Before washing, zip up the jacket and turn it inside out. Machine wash at 86°F (30°C) using a small amount of detergent—ideally one made for waterproof gear—and run a second rinse to remove any residue. Avoid heavy spin cycles to help preserve the jacket’s performance and structure.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Three ways to restore water-repellency:- Tumble dry for 15 minutes to reactivate the fabric’s built-in treatment- Use our waterproof gear detergent and after-wash reactivator- Apply a water-repellent spray treatment
